We welcome applicants who can contribute to the integration of history and theory with the design studio and the development of innovative pedagogical models that facilitate the pursuit of new knowledge at the New York Tech School of Architecture and Design. The committee will favorably consider a candidate’s ability to teach design studios and collaborate with design studio faculty and experts in digital fabrication and contemporary design theory. The search committee is seeking a dynamic scholar and colleague who can closely interact with specialists in the school’s other fields and inspire the SoAD community with critical and innovative perspectives. ![]() The search committee strongly encourages candidates with primary or secondary expertise in the history and theory of underrepresented geographical regions (e.g., Latin America, Africa, South Asia, or the Middle East) to apply. Candidates must demonstrate scholarly promise, a passion for teaching, and expertise in global architectural history. ![]() The role of the Assistant/Associate Professor requires teaching, coordination, and curriculum development at the graduate and undergraduate levels in core courses, seminars, and electives in this specialization and with the preferred ability to teach design studios.
